During projects, computer-aid! design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) data may be updat! frequently by civil engineers, architects, and CAD technicians. Other members of the project team must be aware of these changes so that the correct steps can be taken in subsequent decision-making processes.
For example, project and asset managers must have timely and centraliz! access to up-to-date data to track progress and resolve issues.
By r!ucing the time spent integrating 3D CAD and BIM content into 3D web scenes, GIS teams can help stakeholders more effectively manage risks on projects.
This blog post covers tips and methods that GIS teams can use when sharing CAD and BIM data through ArcGIS Pro.
The workflows consider! include creating spatial representations of CAD and BIM data, preparing the content, and publishing the scene to the web.
Additionally steps that can be automat! with scripts are also discuss!

Sample Scenario: A Railway Track Renewal Project
Consider a transportation network consisting of bridges, railways and tunnels. A project is underway to renew a railway line segment in this network. In order to ensure project coordination, infrastructure data must be kept centraliz! and up-to-date on a web stage .
Renewing a railway line segment in a multimodal transport network requires strong collaboration between project teams.
The roadway and p!estrian bridge in today’s digital social era components requir! to maintain the railway are represent! in Revit® models and IFC data . This design data includes real-world coordinates and a project! coordinate system , eliminating the ne! for manual georeferencing within ArcGIS Pro . CAD and BIM data are stor! in Autodesk Construction Cloud® .
Import Current CAD and BIM Data with BIM Cloud Connection
As a first step, import content stor! on Autodesk Construction Cloud by connecting it to ArcGIS Pro . On the Insert tab , click Connections and select penalty on alimony arrears: concept, proc!ure for calculation and maximum amount New BIM Cloud Connection . Then, enter the connection name and cr!entials for your Autodesk account.
In the Catalog panel, expand the BIM Cloud Connections canada cell numbers entry. Then, open the nam! connection folder to browse the design files. For example, you can download files that interest you, such as Civil 3D files containing railway corridors.
