Choosing the Hard Way

Let me share a personal story from my early days in sales when I started working a summer job selling textbooks door to door in San Jose, California. Initially, usa lists I faced a lot of rejection, with some prospects closing the door before I even started my presentation.

Difficult Choice

However, I noticed that the Hispanic families in the area were more welcoming. They at least allowed me to complete my demonstration before politely declining. It became apparent that devoting time to selling to friendly families might be comfortable, but shop it would not bring in many sales.

So, I made a tough choice. I decided to avoid the streets where I was greeted with kindness and focus my efforts in areas where rejection was more common. It was a tough decision, but it paid off — I made more sales and improved my sales skills in the process.
