BI Constructor is a very flexible tool with a huge number of settings and features. Only some of them are available in the user interface, when it is enough to click a few buttons and save the result. Some of the 26 standard reports are initially configured using SQL, and it is impossible to edit them without minimal knowledge of the structured query language.
For deeper customization of reports in
BI Constructor, for example, to combine two or more datasets, you will have to involve a developer. Another nuance is that it is not always obvious what exactly should be edited in the settings of reports, graphs and dashboards in order to track and manage the necessary metrics. Working out the structure of processes, data and connections between them, drawing up the correct technical task for developers is the analyst’s task.
When else is it necessary to program BI Constructor:
- Slow report generation speed. When working with large amounts of data and sending complex queries, the tool’s performance may drop. Our specialists will help you understand the problem and optimize the processes.
- Forecasting in reports. Yes, there is no artificial intelligence in the designer, but you can use statistical formulas and calculate the expected result. For example, based on sales data for 3 months, forecast revenue for the year using the extrapolation method.
How we customize reports in BI Constructor
Let’s show you an example of how we customize system reports.
Given
The client is a law firm with incoming warm angola email list leads. Applications come by phone and from the website from several sources: forms on different pages and a chat.
Tasks: collect statistics and analyze all calls, identifying failed calls and successful calls; track the conversion of calls into invoices, the amount of invoices and the average check.
What we did
The Calls and Bills report is based on the china numbers standard Call Analytics report, which was more suitable for customization.
Stages of work:
- On the “Number of calls by stages” graph, we set up filtering by time (indicators for the day, week and month). You can get data on calls by department and a specific employee, which they made at different stages of the deal.
- We have supplemented the table with information about calls: now it displays the duration of the call, information about the manager who conducted it, and the name of the department.
- We set up the graphs “Number of missed calls” and “Number of successful calls”. Using a filter, you can select the display for a period, by departments and specific employees. To do this, we combined two datasets using SQL queries.
- We created additional “Average check” charts with filtering by departments and managers.
- We developed a table “Conversion of calls to invoices” with a filter by department and by employee and with a choice of time interval.
- A “norm” line was added to each graph.
- We assembled and designed the dashboard – transparency is a huge signal for google distributed information across tabs, added headings and texts, and set up the report update frequency.
